HOUSMAIL HM#042 - END TIME REVIVAL?                                                           9 October 1999

"As it was in the days of Noah ..... the flood came and destroyed them all."
"As it was in the days of Lot ..... fire and sulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all .....
so will it be on the day when the Son of man is revealed. (Luke 17:26-33)

"When the Son of man comes, will he find faith on earth?" (Luke 18:8)

Those words from Jesus do not sound at all like world wide, large scale, end time "revival"!

Count the heads! ..... In the days of Noah, there were ONLY EIGHT left in all the world, who
were saved from the flood "through water"! (1 Pet 3:20)

Count the heads! ..... In the days of Lot, there were LESS THAN TEN left in Sodom, for
whose sake (if they could have been found) the LORD would have preserved the city from
destruction! (Genesis 18:32)

If we take Jesus literally, we can expect a time to come when there will not be found ten righteous people in any city, anywhere in the world ..... when there will be no more than eight left in ALL THE WORLD ..... considered worthy to escape the fires of the "Day of The Lord".

When will the fire fall? Only after the last person whose name is written in the Book of Life, has come to repentance ..... and when at the same time, the wickedness of the human race fills this earth as completely as it did in the days of Noah ..... THEN the "Day of the Lord" will come like a thief, and this present world and its wicked works will be completely burned up. (1 Pet 3:10)

Read carefully.

Noah was saved because he was a "PREACHER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS"! (2 Pet 2:5)

He preached righteousness, and when it was all done, the whole human race had rejected the message! Noah alone is recorded as walking with God! (Gen 6:8-9) Are we willing to join with Noah to walk alone with God, and face that same total rejection in these "last days"?

But the most important message in those words of Jesus, is NOT about HOW MANY faithful will be found, but whether THE FAITH will be found IN US! It is directed individually to our own hearts.

It is a sad commentary on those who THINK they KNOW ABOUT the Kingdom, that many of them seem no longer able to agree amongst themselves about what "righteousness" means!

To preach the Kingdom of God effectively we also must walk with God in righteousness ..... and preach THAT to others as a CONDITION of inheriting the Kingdom.

To do that effectively we must not only KNOW WHAT IT IS academically, but also hunger and thirst to EXPERIENCE it within ourselves! (Matt 5:6)

When Jesus comes, will He find US still striving OURSELVES, for the personal HOLINESS, without which no one will see God? (Heb 12:14)
