This short article and collection of Bible verses is for EVERYBODY to read prayerfully, Our English word "pornography", is derived from the Greek - "PORNEIA". The Primary meaning of this GREEK word is about the sin of "Prostitution". However in Bible usage, "PORNEIA" is not limited only to those who engage in sex for money. It extends to all who commit "fornication", whether for money or not. And in the teaching of Jesus, (Matthew 5:27-28) those who fantasise about sexual sin, are as impure in heart, and as much guilty of sin, as those who perform the physical actions! PORNOGRAPHY, is "erotic literature". It is NOT Harmless!! It includes written materials, photos, drawings, or videos, etc., designed to stimulate the mind in sexual fantasy! ....... sexual fantasy that Jesus calls SIN, and that the Apostle Paul says will exclude those who practise it, from the Kingdom of Heaven. The production of these materials is SIN on the part of those who write
the stories, take the photos, or act in the movies.
The distribution of these materials is SIN on the part of those who transport The sale of these materials is SIN on the part of those who sell them (and The purchase (or borrowing, or stealing) and viewing of these materials, is SIN In the last chapter of the Bible, this SIN of fornication, whether mental or physical,
ranks alongside Murder, Idolatry, Witchcraft and Lying, as a cause of final and complete separation from God FOR ALL ETERNITY. Now for those who take the Bible seriously, here are a few Bible verses.
1. From 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 - NIV "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers WILL INHERIT THE KINGDOMOF GOD. 2. From 1 Corinthians 5:9-11 - NIV "I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people ...... not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat." 3. From Galatians 5:19-21 - RSV "Now the works of the flesh are plain: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, party spirit, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God." 4. From Colossians 3:5-8 - RSV "Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you once walked, when you lived in them. But now PUT THEM ALL AWAY" 5. From Ephesians 5:3-16 - RSV "But fornication and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is fitting among saints. Let there be no filthiness, nor silly talk, nor levity, which are not fitting; but instead let there be thanksgiving. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience .......... Be sure of this, that no fornicator or impure man, or one who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God .......... It is a shame even to speak of the things they do in secret." 6. From Hebrews 13:4 - RSV "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled: for God will judge the immoral and adulterous." 7. From Revelation 21:15 - RSV "Outside are the dogs (note: - a Jewish euphemism for homosexuals) and sorcerers and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who love and practises falsehood." And Finally ....... a more positive thought :-From Philippians 4:8-9 - RSV"Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me DO; (Note - this is the Apostle Paul speaking) ....... and the God of peace will be with you." Thanks for staying with us this far. We hope this brief study has reinforced the determination of the already pure in heart, and helped the not so pure and the double minded "to think hard about cleansing their hands and purifying their hearts".
